 I'm a native Ohioan who fell in love with the South when I attended Warren Wilson College in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Retired from my career as a registered nurse since a life-changing accident in 2003, I devote most days to writing Appalachian fiction, tender gift books, and when the muse whispers, poetry. You'll find my devotions in anthologies such as: Amazing Faith by Insight Publishing, the miraculous story of my life-changing accident; One Year Life Verse Devotional by Tyndale House Publishers; Daily Devotions for Writers from The Writing Academy; HUGS Bible Reflections for Women by Howard/Simon and Schuster, and others. I'm polishing a tender gift book, Love and Everyday Wisdom for Brides, with its companion book/journal stirring in my heart. If you hear me talking to characters, you'll likely find me mining fiction, In the Den with Daniel, a novel set deep in the mountains of Appalachia.
In quiet moments, I love creating my inspirational card line Soaring Hearts, available in the gracious Lady Bedford's Tea Parlour in Pinehurst; and The Sand Dollar seaside boutique on Anna Maria Island, Florida. (See Products) In February, 2011, I presented the inaugural Living Letters® Seminar ˜ Writing Your Keepsake Letter, a seminar and Tea at the historic Carolina Inn on the campus of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Future dates for the Living Letters® Seminar and Tea for Brides; and for Caregivers, will be announced later in 2012.
I'm a graduate of C.L.A.S.S. (Christian Leaders, Authors, Speakers Seminars), a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, Christian Authors Guild, North Carolina Poetry Society, and founder of the Light of Carolina Christian Writers. My husband and I are blessed to dream amidst bluebirds and hollyhocks in the pastoral beauty of North Carolina.
