Thoughts of Thanksgiving

Soaring Hearts Blessings
Dear Gentle Readers~

As we approach the Thanksgiving holidays, I pause to reflect on myriad ways God has poured out many blessings this year.  Just looking around my home, I love the added touches of autumn and harvest's bounty.  Guests are greeted with a centerpiece of colorful gourds, tiny squash, and glazed apples arranged on a bronzed pedestal with a barley twist base.  An amber leaf-shaped candleholder and Vietri pumpkin create a warm ambiance on either side the foyer table.

Slender dogwood branches stretch across the large living room windows showcasing their painted leaves--a veritable masterpiece of beauty and art.  A pot of deep crimson mums brightens the front porch as russet, gold, and red leaves rustle in the chilly November wind.

Last night I made my first potato soup of the season for the family.  Served with fresh green salad, croissants, and small wedges of pumpkin cheesecake, we dined like royalty.  I am so grateful for God's faithful gifts of a comfortable home and food aplenty, and also my wonderful mate to share life with me.  I pray I never take these gifts for granted.

As I add a cornucopia overflowing with squash and fruit to my table, my thoughts turn to Psalm 100:4 NKJV, "Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name."  Join me in giving praise to Him who provides our every need.

What are some of your blessings this Thanksgiving season?  I'd love to hear what they are.

Barbara
