                                                                             The Call to Write

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

                                                                           II Corinthians 4:7 (NKJV)

Each time I sit at my desk to write, a Psalm inscribed on a small plaque reminds me of the power of words. Like a shining star, the verse continues to guide me: words can make a difference in the lives of those who read them.

What writing treasures lie buried in your earthen vessels?  Do you have stories and ideas for devotions, articles, or books scribbled on napkins or the backs of envelopes?  Are they stuffed in a desk drawer or shoebox out of sight?  Perhaps God has been calling you to write for some time, and has already provided material to begin your journey.

Paul affirms that we are endowed with an inner treasure from God.  Today is the day to dig into the jewels that await!  As you embrace your God-given treasure, words filled with excellent power can flow from your pen.  Your life-giving message may encourage someone to embrace their priceless treasure within.

Love to write short devotions!

I love to write short devotions. Just some thought for others to chew on during the week. This week I wrote on the Lavish Forgiveness of God! Like you said, words are powerful...they are words of life or death. I pray to bring words of life, to myself and to others! Sandra Stanford www.sandrastanford.com
