Poetry to express the fleeting nature of our lives
There is a time for everything,

and a season for every activity under heaven:   Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

Timeā€¦

Elusive, powerful, mysterious time.

Time slips through our fingers like grains of sand,

passing uncaptured in our grasp.

Unlike a painting's beauty preserved in stillness,

Time escapes our perception as we move through it.

We know it exists.

Our faces are changed with its unmistakable imprint.

Time is kinder to some than others,

leaving a lifetime of memories

to curl up with in old age.

Time is present each moment of our lives,

every sunset a reminder

of its fleeting nature.

Like trees sculpted by ocean winds,

Time etches our lives with its invisible current,

and graces us with moments

that leave us forever changed.
